Where to Ask About an Official Warrant

Choose the office by the question, not just by the city where a citation was issued.

  • Nance County Court: traffic, city or village ordinance, misdemeanor, infraction, juvenile, and felony preliminary matters. 209 Esther St., Fullerton, NE 68638; (308) 536-2675. The county page lists office hours to 5:00 p.m., while general courthouse hours close at 4:30 p.m., so call before arriving late.
  • Nance District Court: felony trial-stage records after bind-over. 209 Esther St., Fullerton, NE 68638; (308) 536-2365. The current Fifth District directory should be checked for current personnel.
  • Nance County Sheriff: process, service, jail, arrest, extradition, and surrender questions. 209 Esther St., Fullerton, NE 68638; (308) 536-2452; published office hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. The public page lists an Extraditions and Warrants Division but no separate line.
  • County Clerk records routing: (308) 536-2331 when the requester does not know which department maintains an existing public record.

Records Requests and Court Searches

The Nance County FOI page says a request should go to the department that maintains the record. If the requester is unsure, the County Clerk can forward the request. Describe an existing record, date range, case number, or agreement. Ask for an approximate fee before copies are made.

The Nebraska Public Records Act, ยงยง84-712 through 84-712.09, supports inspection subject to exceptions. Section 84-712.05 may allow qualifying law-enforcement investigative material to be withheld. A court warrant, a Sheriff service return, and a city agreement may have different custodians.

For a case lead, use Nebraska JUSTICE eServices. It is not a live warrant roster, and a no-result is not a universal certificate.
